It is necessary to check whether the required chart of accounts have been assigned in the settings.

In the “VAT” section, assign the corresponding accounts in the following fields:

• VAT closing account – Kaip sukurti naują kor. sąskaitą sąskaitų plane? account that will be used as the final payable VAT account.
• VAT registration accounts – select the accounts where VAT is recorded (enter multiple accounts separated by commas).

2. Check: Settings → Settings → Accounting
Ensure that the “Federal Tax Authority” field is filled in.

3. General Ledger → General register
To close VAT, click the “VAT Closing” button.

In the window that opens, select the month for which you want to perform the VAT closing, then click Save. VAT closing is carried out only based on the turnover of the corresponding VAT accounts for the selected month, as specified in the “VAT registration accounts” field (see point 1).

After this action, two entries will be created in the General Journal: a credit and a debit transaction. The document numbers for these entries will be: “VAT Closing D-[date]” and “VAT Closing K-[date]”. These entries will be closed through the designated intermediary account.

You can verify the registered transaction via: Reports → GL Reports → “General Ledger summary by month” or by using another report from the GL Reports module.
An entry can be deleted if it is incorrect — click on the entry amount (the entry will turn green and the Edit button will become active), then open the document and click Delete.

Note: The created VAT closing account does not need to be linked to declaration items.
