What is DNS DKIM record?

DKIM - type of DNS record for email authentication that helps prevent spammers and fake emails. DKIM adds a digital signature to an email. This helps mail servers check and verify that the message really came from the claimed sender's domain.

How does DKIM work?

If the email contains encrypted data about who sent it and when, the mail server receives this data with the email and decrypts it using the public key stored in the domain from which the email was sent. If the data match, the email is considered trustworthy and can be allowed into the mailbox. If the data does not match, the email may be marked as "Spam".
